The 3-Step Process
Step 1: Tell Us About Your Home (60 Seconds)
Start by filling out our short form. We'll ask a few basic questions about your property, electric bill, and goals. This helps us understand which installers in our network are best suited for your situation.
What we ask:
- Your name, email, phone, and ZIP code
- Property type (single-family, townhouse, etc.)
- Whether you own your home
- Your approximate monthly electric bill
- Any additional details you want to share
It takes about 60 seconds, and there's no obligation — you can stop at any point.
Step 2: We Match You With Up to 4 Vetted Installers
Once you submit your information, our system identifies the best-fit installers in your area from our partner network. Within 24-48 hours, you'll typically hear from:
- Up to 4 independent, licensed solar installation companies
- Companies that service your specific ZIP code
- Installers whose offerings match your property type and needs
Each installer will reach out directly to schedule a free consultation, gather a few more details, and prepare a custom quote.
Step 3: Compare Quotes and Choose (Or Don't)
Once you have quotes in hand, you can:
- Compare pricing, equipment, warranties, and financing options side-by-side
- Ask questions directly to each installer
- Request references or additional information
- Take your time — there's no deadline
- Choose the installer that's right for you — or walk away entirely
We never pressure you to move forward. If none of the quotes are the right fit, that's okay. You've learned more about solar and still paid nothing.
What Happens Behind the Scenes
How We Vet Installers
Before any installer joins our network, they must meet baseline standards for:
- Active contractor licensing in the states they serve
- General liability and workers' compensation insurance
- Years of operating history
- Customer reviews and complaint records
- Industry certifications (such as NABCEP where applicable)
How Your Information Is Shared
When you submit your request, your information is shared with up to four (4) installers in our network. We do not auction your information to unlimited bidders or resell it to unrelated third parties. You can review our Privacy Policy for full details.
How We Make Money
Our service is free to homeowners. We are compensated by our installer partners when we send them qualified homeowner inquiries. This business model is the reason we can offer the service at no cost to you — and it's why we have strong incentives to match you with installers who will deliver a great experience (bad installers get removed from our network).
What We're NOT
It's important to be clear about our role:
- ❌ We are not a solar installer
- ❌ We do not perform site assessments
- ❌ We do not provide quotes (installers do)
- ❌ We do not finance solar systems
- ❌ We do not warrant the work performed by installers
We are a marketing and matchmaking service that helps you find and compare qualified installers. All solar services are provided by the independent installers themselves.
